Juice Drops | Australia’s Big Bass Party Hosted by Sangers & Katie Karma

In this episode we find the Juice Drop action on the other side of the planet…this is the furthest we’ve found from our home base in sunny San Diego, California.  I recently had the opportunity to chat with Sangers, of Sangers & Ra fame, about all things Australia including their Big Bass Party show which featured my recent Make It Clap jam.  They nabbed the Original, but for all you Glitch Hop heads there’s a top charting remix on that tip as well.  On to the episode…

From the intro, you know this crew has their ish together.  It’s a proper bass focused FM radio style show hosted by Sangers & Katie Karma based out of Brisbane, Australia.  Part of the reason I love this one is there’s such a huge range of broken beat music here.  Sangers and I had a chat on the topic of Breaks, and we both agreed there’s a lot of interesting music out there with broken beats between the 60 and 180 BPM range.  Anyone that’s heard me play know’s I love the breaks, but my recent BPM Shifter Tools are a clear indictor that I like to sway things left and right.

On that tip, get ready for a bass heavy assault including everything from new jams by Diplo to an informative interview with Etc! Etc! The Juice Drop is a few bumps in, and then the interview rolls for a few.  Some interesting dialog on free music splits directions, worth a listen for any of you artists types.  In addition, the interview reconfirms Diplo may be my doppleganger, if for no other reason, first names.

In and around he interview and occasional humor, enjoy the range of bass across new and classic jams spanning festival bangers, breaks, twerk, trap , drum & bass and a few points in between.  For any San Diego readers, I couldn’t help but be reminded of Datphat, [Soundcloud] one of San Diego’s future hip hop blasters.  The first time I heard Datphat was at Electric Poncho 2014 in the middle of the Mexican desert under a palapa hut that nearly slid off the hillside into the canyon.
Check em out, there’s a ton of stuff here, great show new friends.
